Draft Grade — Giants
Overall B+
ValueB NeedB+ TradesA+ FutureB-
Robinson should have been long gone. The Giants pounced, and earned a B+.

The Giants ran the phones like sharks, prying loose value on deal after deal until the ledger was lopsided. They moved the roster forward and banked a B+ for it.

The Robinson pick alone nudges the whole weekend up a notch. If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through running back.

The veteran additions, Ali Marpet chief among them, give the class a floor the rookies alone would not. Interior defensive lineman is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.

In short, they left a little better than they arrived, which is the whole idea.

Pick Analysis
Pick14 Rnd1 Rome Odunze
In pick No. 14 they get a No. 1 receiver. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick37 Rnd2 Chop Robinson
They will replay Chop Robinson at the Round 2 slot for years; that is how good the value is. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick42 Rnd2 J.J. McCarthy
J.J. McCarthy in the 42nd overall pick is fair value, right on his grade. It fills a real need, too.
Pick46 Rnd2 Nate Wiggins
Nate Wiggins at Round 2, Pick 14 is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick54 Rnd2 Kingsley Suamataia
Nothing to complain about; Kingsley Suamataia went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick69 Rnd3 Kamren Kinchens
Good price on Kamren Kinchens in No. 69, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick74 Rnd3 Barrett Carter
No edge and no loss on Barrett Carter in the Round 3 slot; it is a wash and a sensible one. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Pick105 Rnd4 Tate Ratledge
No drama and no debate, Tate Ratledge went about where he belonged in the 105th overall pick. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick108 Rnd4 Tyleik Williams
They paid sticker price for Tyleik Williams in the 108th pick, and that is fine. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
