Draft Grade — Giants
Overall B+
ValueB+ NeedB+ TradesA- FutureB-
Larceny in pick No. 39 lands the Giants a B+, Turner and all.

Every so often the board makes a mistake, and the Giants were there to profit. Dallas Turner, the No. 14 name on the board, should have been long gone before Round 2, Pick 7. A dependable weekend that grades out a B+.

A whole weekend of picks and running back is somehow still a want. The trade work was a quiet net positive.

The roster is better shaped than it was, with interior defensive lineman chief among the fixes.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but running back.

Pick Analysis
Pick8 Rnd1 Rome Odunze
A market-rate wide receiver, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Rome Odunze. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick39 Rnd2 Dallas Turner
Taking Dallas Turner in Round 2, Pick 7 is close to grand larceny; an edge rusher that good had no business lasting this long. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick43 Rnd2 Kamari Lassiter
Kamari Lassiter is a better player than No. 43 suggests; smart patience, rewarded. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick47 Rnd2 Jordan Morgan
They robbed the room for Jordan Morgan here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick70 Rnd3 Ruke Orhorhoro
Ruke Orhorhoro at pick 70 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick107 Rnd4 Michael Pratt
Nothing to complain about; Michael Pratt went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick143 Rnd5 James Williams
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing James Williams in the 143rd pick. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick185 Rnd6 Jaylan Ford
A slide stopped in pick No. 185, with Jaylan Ford worth more than the price. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
