The Chargers turned the phones into found money: B. The Chargers spent real capital to be 114 picks early on Barryn Sorrell, and the board is going to hold them to it. It nets out to a B, which feels about right.
Getting Nelson where they did is the sort of value that quietly makes a class. Every deal seemed to tilt their way, which is not luck.
Leaving cornerback unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. The veteran additions, Mark Andrews chief among them, give the class a floor the rookies alone would not.
All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.
