The Chiefs let Hunter fall into their laps, and walked away with a B+. The Chiefs spent the weekend waiting on one name, and it fell: Lee Hunter, the No. 49 name on the board, in Round 4, Pick 12. They moved the roster forward and banked a B+ for it.
Every board in the league had Cameron lower, and that gap is the story. The phones were where this weekend was really won. For all the activity, tight end went untouched, which is hard to explain.
It is not that Stukes is a bad player; it is that the Chiefs had louder needs to answer first.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the tight end spot they never got to.
