The tape said wait; the Colts did not. Will Howard went at the Round 2 slot, a good 70 picks before the board was ready. A weekend to file away and forget, and an F to match.

Arroyo falling to them is the kind of break a good board is built to catch. The trades bled value they could not afford to lose.

Leaving wide receiver unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. They are betting the present roster is worth a lighter draft next spring.
