Draft Grade — Colts
Overall

The Colts let Sanders fall and pounced. Final grade: B-. The Colts did not reach, did not trade up, did not blink. They just waited, and Raheim Sanders fell into Round 7, Pick 15.
Every board in the league had McCord lower, and that gap is the story. It is not that Starks is a bad player; it is that the Colts had louder needs to answer first. If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through interior defensive lineman.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but interior defensive lineman.
Pick Analysis
Pick13
Rnd1
Nick Emmanwori
In slot 13 they get a two-high chess piece. More want than need.
Pick45
Rnd2
Tate Ratledge
A quiet steal in the 45th pick: Tate Ratledge for less than the market said. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick77
Rnd3
Malaki Starks
A curious use of pick 77. Interior defensive lineman, edge rusher and other spots needed the pick; a safety in Malaki Starks did not.
Pick114
Rnd4
Colston Loveland
They barely believed it either: Colston Loveland still on the board at No. 114. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick151
Rnd5
Kyle McCord
A wild overpay on Kyle McCord in the 151st overall pick, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick189
Rnd6
Tory Horton
A straight-up fair deal on Tory Horton at Round 6, Pick 14, value and slot in agreement. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick229
Rnd7
Raheim Sanders
Somehow Raheim Sanders was still sitting there in the Round 7 slot, and they pounced on premier running back value. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
