Killian DRAFTING FOR THEColts

FutureB-
The Colts checked most of the boxes and earned a B. The Colts clearly saw something nobody else did in Kyle McCord, taking him 115 picks ahead of his grade. The board is not convinced.
On value alone, Majors makes the weekend a net positive. They went 8 of 8 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for.
In short, they left a little better than they arrived, which is the whole idea.
Pick Analysis
Pick12
Rnd1
Walter Nolen
In the 12th overall pick they get an anchor for the defensive front. A real need, handled.
Pick57
Rnd2
Malaki Starks
Steal is underselling it; Malaki Starks at slot 57 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Pick79
Rnd3
Tyler Warren
Tyler Warren in the Round 3 slot should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick89
Rnd3
Jihaad Campbell
A linebacker of that caliber at No. 89 is the definition of value, full stop. The roster fit checks out.
Pick115
Rnd4
Kyle McCord
A real head-scratcher, Kyle McCord in pick 115 is miles ahead of his ranking. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick126
Rnd4
Kyren Lacy
Nothing to complain about; Kyren Lacy went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick149
Rnd5
Jake Majors
They robbed the room for Jake Majors here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick164
Rnd5
Jared Wilson
Jared Wilson at the 164th pick is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick187
Rnd6
Raheim Sanders
The board fumbled Raheim Sanders all the way to Round 6, Pick 12, and they scooped it up. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick227
Rnd7
Jasheen Davis
Jasheen Davis at the 227th overall pick is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
