Draft Grade — Colts

Larceny in the 229th pick lands the Colts a B-, Sanders and all. Somewhere a general manager is explaining how Raheim Sanders got past him. The Colts do not have to explain a thing at pick No. 229. A dependable weekend that grades out a B-.
They are betting Dart proves the room right and everyone else wrong. A whole weekend of picks and edge rusher is somehow still a want.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but edge rusher.
Pick Analysis
Pick13
Rnd1
Nick Emmanwori
In pick 13 they get a centerfielder for the defense. Need was not the driver here.
Pick45
Rnd2
T.J. Sanders
Good price on T.J. Sanders in the 45th pick, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick77
Rnd3
Jaxson Dart
Jaxson Dart in Round 3, Pick 13 is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick114
Rnd4
Tyler Warren
Tyler Warren in slot 114 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick151
Rnd5
Willie Lampkin
Willie Lampkin at the Round 5 slot jumps the queue by a touch more than is comfortable. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick189
Rnd6
Tory Horton
They took Tory Horton at par in pick No. 189, which is nothing to complain about. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick229
Rnd7
Raheim Sanders
Taking Raheim Sanders in No. 229 is close to grand larceny; a running back that good had no business lasting this long. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
