Sanders should have been long gone. The Colts pounced, and earned a B-.

Every so often the board makes a mistake, and the Colts were there to profit. Raheim Sanders, the No. 140 name on the board, should have been long gone before the Round 7 slot.

They will regret leaving interior defensive lineman for another day if the season turns on it. It is not that Watts is a bad player; it is that the Colts had louder needs to answer first. They are betting Wells Jr. proves the room right and everyone else wrong.

Add it up and it is a good, unfussy class.

Pick13 Rnd1 Nick Emmanwori

In slot 13 they get an enforcer at safety. More want than need.

Pick45 Rnd2 Jalen Milroe

Jalen Milroe at the 45th pick jumps the queue by a touch more than is comfortable. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.

Pick77 Rnd3 Xavier Watts

A curious use of Round 3, Pick 13. Interior defensive lineman, edge rusher and other spots needed the pick; a safety in Xavier Watts did not.

Pick114 Rnd4 Tyler Warren

A top-tier tight end at a bargain, Tyler Warren in No. 114, plain and simple. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.

Jake Majors in the Round 5 slot should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
