Every so often the board makes a mistake, and the Steelers were there to profit. Myles Jones, the No. 204 name on the board, should have been long gone before slot 245. Call it a sensible B, earned the boring way.

They will need Anderson to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it. For all the activity, edge rusher went untouched, which is hard to explain. The dealing nudged the ledger their way without much fuss.

They went 6 of 9 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for.

A competent weekend that does not make headlines and does not need to.
