Draft Grade — Colts
Overall D-
ValueB NeedB+ TradesF FutureC-
The Colts robbed the room for Higgins. Final grade: D-.

It is the swing that defines the weekend: Kaden Prather in Round 7, Pick 16, a good 35 spots before the room expected him. A weekend that fought the value and lost, hence the D-.

The dealing is the wound this class cannot quite close. The Higgins value carries more weight than any single miss elsewhere.

They will regret leaving offensive lineman for another day if the season turns on it. They are betting the present roster is worth a lighter draft next spring.

Add it up and it is a weekend the front office will hope everyone forgets, offensive lineman very much included.

Pick Analysis
Pick33 Rnd2 Jaxson Dart
A big swing on Jaxson Dart at the 33rd overall pick, well ahead of any board in the building. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick45 Rnd2 T.J. Sanders
Nothing to complain about; T.J. Sanders went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. It fills a real need, too.
Pick80 Rnd3 Xavier Watts
Somehow Xavier Watts was still sitting there in the 80th pick, and they pounced on premier safety value. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Pick116 Rnd4 Elijah Arroyo
Circle this one: Elijah Arroyo at No. 116 is a fall that decides a draft. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick152 Rnd5 Cam Skattebo
Cam Skattebo in slot 152 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick191 Rnd6 Jay Higgins
Jay Higgins at pick 191 is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick234 Rnd7 Kaden Prather
They left a pile of value on the table to take Kaden Prather this early at the 234th pick. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
