FutureB
The Colts turned the phones into found money: B. Boards are made to be trusted, and the Colts shredded theirs for Zion Logue. He came off 48 spots early, and the room will hear about it. More right than wrong, and a B to match.
They robbed the room blind at the table, and it lifts the grade on its own. If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through quarterback.
The veteran additions, Darren Waller chief among them, give the class a floor the rookies alone would not. The roster is better shaped than it was, with wide receiver chief among the fixes.
A tidy weekend of work that should hold up just fine.
Pick Analysis
Pick22
Rnd1
Kool-Aid McKinstry
In No. 22 they get an island corner. Need was not the driver here.
Pick47
Rnd2
Devontez Walker
No edge and no loss on Devontez Walker in slot 47; it is a wash and a sensible one. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick54
Rnd2
Jeremiah Trotter Jr.
No drama and no debate, Jeremiah Trotter Jr. went about where he belonged in Round 2, Pick 22. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick82
Rnd3
Christian Haynes
Christian Haynes in pick No. 82 lands just on the right side of the ledger. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick117
Rnd4
James Williams
The board had cheaper options than James Williams at the 117th overall pick, and it noticed. A minor itch, scratched.
Pick153
Rnd5
Christian Jones
Christian Jones in the Round 5 slot is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. The roster fit checks out.
Pick193
Rnd6
Zion Logue
They reached a country mile for Zion Logue at the 193rd overall pick, and the board is aghast. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick235
Rnd7
Tanner McLachlan
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Tanner McLachlan well ahead of where he belonged. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
