For all the names on the card, the loudest question went unanswered. The Colts walked out of the weekend still thin at quarterback, a hole that has a way of deciding seasons. For now it grades a C+, with the swing picks left to settle the rest.

They are betting McLachlan proves the room right and everyone else wrong. The bill for those future picks comes due whether the class hits or not.

On the needs board they went 5 of 8, with wide receiver the one that mattered most.
