Draft Grade — Colts

FutureB-
The Colts turned the phones into found money: B. The Colts looked at the value chart, folded it up, and took Hunter Nourzad at pick No. 117 regardless, 42 picks early. A dependable weekend that grades out a B.
They robbed the room blind at the table, and it lifts the grade on its own. A whole weekend of picks and quarterback is somehow still a want. The Tyler Higbee pickup adds a known quantity to a class of unknowns.
Wide receiver was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.
Add it up and it is a good, unfussy class.
Pick Analysis
Pick19
Rnd1
Quinyon Mitchell
In Round 1, Pick 19 they get a potential shutdown corner. More want than need.
Pick46
Rnd2
Cooper Beebe
No edge and no loss on Cooper Beebe in No. 46; it is a wash and a sensible one. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick52
Rnd2
Xavier Worthy
Xavier Worthy at the Round 2 slot is right where the board had him, plain and simple. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick82
Rnd3
Calen Bullock
By-the-book stuff, Calen Bullock at pick 82 squarely in line with his ranking. A minor itch, scratched.
Pick117
Rnd4
Hunter Nourzad
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Hunter Nourzad well ahead of where he belonged. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick151
Rnd5
Nelson Ceaser
Nelson Ceaser at the 151st overall pick is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick191
Rnd6
Logan Lee
A big swing on Logan Lee at pick 191, well ahead of any board in the building. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick234
Rnd7
Tyrice Knight
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Tyrice Knight. A need, and now a little less of one.
