FutureB
No fireworks, just a tidy B for the Colts. There is conviction, and then there is this. The Colts took Brevyn Spann-Ford a full 46 picks ahead of where the board had him, an overdraft steep enough that it colors the whole weekend.
However the rest shakes out, Williams at that price is a win they earned. That quarterback hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the quarterback spot they never got to.
Pick Analysis
Pick15
Rnd1
Jer'Zhan Newton
In slot 15 they get a run-stuffing presence up front. A real need, handled.
Pick49
Rnd2
Graham Barton
They took Graham Barton at par in the Round 2 slot, which is nothing to complain about. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick82
Rnd3
Malachi Corley
A reasonable price with a little left over, Malachi Corley in the 82nd overall pick. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick118
Rnd4
DJ James
DJ James at the 118th pick nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Pick150
Rnd5
Ty'Ron Hopper
Ty'Ron Hopper in pick No. 150 is fair value, right on his grade. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick193
Rnd6
Brevyn Spann-Ford
Value said wait; Brevyn Spann-Ford in No. 193 says they were not listening. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick232
Rnd7
Jalen Green
A tidy little value on Jalen Green in Round 7, Pick 12, a step better than break-even. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Pick252
Rnd7
Miyan Williams
Miyan Williams at the 252nd overall pick is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
