Killian DRAFTING FOR THEColts

Draft Grade — Colts
Overall
B-
ValueB
NeedB-
TradesB-
FutureB-
The Colts robbed the room for Haynes. Final grade: B-. You could see the war room lean forward. Christian Haynes at the 117th pick is the sort of fall that does not happen, except it just did.
They punted on quarterback, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest. They left with wide receiver solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off. The back end got a real overhaul.
Not a headline-grabber, but a perfectly good weekend's work.
Pick Analysis
Pick15
Rnd1
Terrion Arnold
In the Round 1 slot they get a press-man option on the boundary. More want than need.
Pick46
Rnd2
Kamren Kinchens
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Kamren Kinchens at No. 46 is the proof. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Pick82
Rnd3
Malachi Corley
Malachi Corley at slot 82 is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick117
Rnd4
Christian Haynes
They will replay Christian Haynes at the 117th overall pick for years; that is how good the value is. It fills a real need, too.
Pick153
Rnd5
Jaheim Bell
Jaheim Bell at pick 153 is money in the bank, a tight end taken below his worth. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick193
Rnd6
Christian Jones
Christian Jones in the 193rd pick is exactly on the number, no argument either way. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick235
Rnd7
Stefon Thompson
They paid sticker price for Stefon Thompson in Round 7, Pick 15, and that is fine. The roster logic is harder to follow.
