Killian DRAFTING FOR THEColts

Draft Grade — Colts
Overall

FutureB-
No fireworks, just a tidy B for the Colts. The move everyone will second-guess came early. The Colts reached some 44 spots for Zion Logue, and value like that does not grow back.
The Lassiter pick alone nudges the whole weekend up a notch. If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through quarterback. The dealing nudged the ledger their way without much fuss.
Solid rather than spectacular, and there is nothing wrong with that.
Pick Analysis
Pick26
Rnd1
Dallas Turner
In No. 26 they get a bendy edge with upside, and a steal at that. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick35
Rnd2
Xavier Legette
Nothing to complain about; Xavier Legette went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick46
Rnd2
Kamari Lassiter
A cornerback of that caliber at the 46th overall pick is the definition of value, full stop. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Pick82
Rnd3
Cooper Beebe
Cooper Beebe in the 82nd pick is fair value, right on his grade. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick117
Rnd4
Tommy Eichenberg
They paid up for Tommy Eichenberg at the Round 4 slot when waiting would have done the job. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick153
Rnd5
James Williams
Quietly one of the better values of the day, James Williams at Round 5, Pick 17. A minor itch, scratched.
Pick193
Rnd6
Christian Jones
They went early on Christian Jones in the 193rd overall pick, and the value did not follow. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick227
Rnd7
Zion Logue
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Zion Logue well ahead of where he belonged. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick235
Rnd7
Erick All
A clean, defensible pick in pick No. 235 with a little surplus value in Erick All. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
