Draft Grade — Colts

The Colts worked the phones like thieves and earned a B. Boards are made to be trusted, and the Colts shredded theirs for DeMonte Capehart. He came off 43 spots early, and the room will hear about it. No fireworks, but a solid B.
They robbed the room blind at the table, and it lifts the grade on its own. They punted on quarterback, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest.
The Brandon Graham pickup adds a known quantity to a class of unknowns. The roster is better shaped than it was, with wide receiver chief among the fixes.
A tidy weekend of work that should hold up just fine.
Pick Analysis
Pick22
Rnd1
Nate Wiggins
In the Round 1 slot they get a potential shutdown corner at fair value. More want than need.
Pick46
Rnd2
Calen Bullock
Calen Bullock at slot 46 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Pick54
Rnd2
Johnny Wilson
Johnny Wilson at the 54th pick is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick82
Rnd3
Christian Haynes
Christian Haynes at Round 3, Pick 18 nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick97
Rnd3
Tyrice Knight
They reached into another round for Tyrice Knight, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick118
Rnd4
Jaheim Bell
Jaheim Bell at No. 118 is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick150
Rnd5
Zion Tupuola-Fetui
Zion Tupuola-Fetui in the Round 5 slot is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. The roster fit checks out.
Pick193
Rnd6
Christian Jones
No drama and no debate, Christian Jones went about where he belonged in slot 193. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick232
Rnd7
DeMonte Capehart
They left a pile of value on the table to take DeMonte Capehart this early at the 232nd overall pick. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
