The rest of the league will want that one back. Nate Wiggins tumbling to the Colts in pick 46 is a gift they did not have to think twice about. Call it a sensible B, earned the boring way.

If Spann-Ford pans out, nobody remembers the price. If not, this is the pick they hear about. For all the activity, quarterback went untouched, which is hard to explain. Stockpiling next year's capital is patient, if unglamorous, asset work.

On the needs board they went 6 of 8, with wide receiver the one that mattered most.

In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the quarterback spot they never got to.
