Draft Grade — Seahawks
Overall B-
ValueB NeedC+ TradesC+ FutureB-
Biles should have been long gone. The Seahawks pounced, and earned a B-.

Every so often the board makes a mistake, and the Seahawks were there to profit. Rasheem Biles, the No. 69 name on the board, should have been long gone before the 100th overall pick. A sturdy weekend that grades out a B-.

They covered a lot of ground and still skipped edge rusher, which is a strange place to end up. It is not that Sharpe is a bad player; it is that the Seahawks had louder needs to answer first.

All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.

Pick Analysis
Pick24 Rnd1 Will Echoles
In the Round 1 slot they get a pocket-collapsing interior rusher, outstanding value to boot. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick55 Rnd2 Kade Pieper
Value with a capital V on Kade Pieper in pick 55, a genuine coup. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick86 Rnd3 Jamari Sharpe
They bypassed pressing needs at edge rusher and running back to take Jamari Sharpe, a cornerback that was not the priority.
Pick100 Rnd3 Rasheem Biles
They zigged when the board said zag, taking Rasheem Biles at linebacker with edge rusher and running back open.
Pick101 Rnd3 Peyton Bowen
Hard to square with the roster. With positions of obvious need still on the board, Peyton Bowen adds a safety and leaves edge rusher and running back untouched.
Pick135 Rnd4 Justin Evans
No edge and no loss on Justin Evans in the 135th overall pick; it is a wash and a sensible one. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick160 Rnd5 Whit Weeks
Nothing to complain about; Whit Weeks went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. A pick in search of a role on this roster.
Pick175 Rnd5 Isaiah Sategna III
They liked Isaiah Sategna III enough to skip the value, taking him in slot 175. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick201 Rnd6 Fox Crader
Fox Crader at pick No. 201 is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the offensive lineman. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick213 Rnd6 Eli Finley
No drama and no debate, Eli Finley went about where he belonged in the Round 6 slot. They doubled down on a strength rather than a need.
Pick245 Rnd7 Noah Fifita
Noah Fifita at Round 7, Pick 24 jumps the queue by a touch more than is comfortable. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
