Somebody in pick No. 151 was going to get robbed, and it turned out to be the rest of the league. The Bengals sat still while Jordan James, the No. 119 name on the board, slid all the way to them, then sprinted to the podium.

They will regret leaving wide receiver for another day if the season turns on it. The Powell-Ryland reach is the anchor dragging on the value grade. The trades cost them a sliver of value they did not need to spend.

On the needs board they went 5 of 8, with cornerback the one that mattered most.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but wide receiver.
