Draft Grade — Bengals
Overall A-
ValueA- NeedB+ TradesA+ FutureB
Best value of the weekend goes to the Bengals for Barron: A-.

The best pick of the weekend was also the simplest. The Bengals watched Jahdae Barron slide 41 picks past his grade and did not hesitate. Very little went wrong, and the A- is earned.

The trade ledger is the best part of the whole weekend. They punted on interior defensive lineman, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest.

Trust the process, because this time the process plainly worked.

Pick Analysis
Pick53 Rnd2 Tyler Warren
They will replay Tyler Warren at No. 53 for years; that is how good the value is. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick55 Rnd2 Jahdae Barron
They barely believed it either: Jahdae Barron still on the board at the 55th overall pick. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick81 Rnd3 Jared Ivey
Jared Ivey at pick 81 is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the edge rusher. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Pick119 Rnd4 Miles Frazier
They did well to land Miles Frazier in slot 119, just ahead of his grade. It fills a real need, too.
Pick155 Rnd5 Jacob Parrish
Steal is underselling it; Jacob Parrish at pick No. 155 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick167 Rnd5 Willie Lampkin
Willie Lampkin at Round 5, Pick 29 is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick193 Rnd6 Kyle Williams
Kyle Williams in the 193rd pick should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick235 Rnd7 Tahj Brooks
Tahj Brooks at the Round 7 slot is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
