Draft Grade — Bears
Overall

FutureB-
Williams is the Bears' new face under center. Grade: B. The Bears spent the pick that matters most on Caleb Williams, and a roster that has been waiting on a passer can start to take shape.
They robbed the room blind at the table, and it lifts the grade on its own. On value alone, Hadden makes the weekend a net positive.
They will need Cole to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it. For all the activity, interior defensive lineman went untouched, which is hard to explain.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but interior defensive lineman.
Pick Analysis
Pick1
Rnd1
Caleb Williams
In No. 1 they get the face of the franchise. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick23
Rnd1
Darius Robinson
In Round 1, Pick 23 they get a double-digit-sack hope, though they paid up to get him. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick45
Rnd2
Tyler Nubin
Nothing to complain about; Tyler Nubin went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Pick51
Rnd2
Devontez Walker
A big swing on Devontez Walker at pick 51, well ahead of any board in the building. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick75
Rnd3
Khyree Jackson
Value said wait; Khyree Jackson in the 75th pick says they were not listening. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick119
Rnd4
Blake Fisher
No edge and no loss on Blake Fisher in the 119th overall pick; it is a wash and a sensible one. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick122
Rnd4
Johnny Wilson
Johnny Wilson in pick No. 122 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick129
Rnd4
Ainias Smith
The board had cheaper options than Ainias Smith at the Round 4 slot, and it noticed. It fills a real need, too.
Pick150
Rnd5
Tommy Eichenberg
A reasonable price with a little left over, Tommy Eichenberg in slot 150. The roster fit checks out.
Pick168
Rnd5
Myles Cole
Myles Cole at the 168th pick is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick178
Rnd6
Javion Cohen
Javion Cohen is a better player than the Round 6 slot suggests; smart patience, rewarded. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick195
Rnd6
Kamal Hadden
You do not let a cornerback like Kamal Hadden reach the 195th overall pick and blink. They did not. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
