The Chargers clearly saw something nobody else did in Bear Alexander, taking him 46 picks ahead of his grade. The board is not convinced.

The dealing is the wound this class cannot quite close. A whole weekend of picks and cornerback is somehow still a want. The Simpson pick is the one they will point to when this weekend is judged.

The bill for those future picks comes due whether the class hits or not.

It is a steep hill from here, and the grade knows it.
