Draft Grade — Giants
Overall B+
ValueA NeedB TradesC FutureA
Larceny in the 183rd overall pick lands the Giants a B+, Allen and all.

The value of the weekend has a name and a slot: Braelon Allen, the 183rd pick, roughly 72 picks past where he belonged.

If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through interior defensive lineman. Stockpiling next year's capital is patient, if unglamorous, asset work. Job largely done: safety settled and 6 of 9 of the wish list covered.

Brandon Hill gives the group a proven body among the projects.

In sum, a sensible class that nudges the roster the right way.

Pick Analysis
Pick27 Rnd1 Brock Bowers
In No. 27 they get a moveable chess piece at tight end, outstanding value to boot.
Pick43 Rnd2 Kool-Aid McKinstry
Kool-Aid McKinstry is a better player than the 43rd overall pick suggests; smart patience, rewarded. It fills a real need, too.
Pick47 Rnd2 Ladd McConkey
Circle this one: Ladd McConkey at pick No. 47 is a fall that decides a draft. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick70 Rnd3 Javon Bullard
Nice patience on Javon Bullard, who had no business lasting to pick 70. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick90 Rnd3 Christian Haynes
You do not let an offensive lineman like Christian Haynes reach the 90th pick and blink. They did not. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick107 Rnd4 Junior Colson
Somehow Junior Colson was still sitting there in slot 107, and they pounced on premier linebacker value. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Pick183 Rnd6 Braelon Allen
Braelon Allen at the Round 6 slot is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick194 Rnd6 AJ Barner
The board fumbled AJ Barner all the way to Round 6, Pick 19, and they scooped it up. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick237 Rnd7 Tyrice Knight
A top-tier linebacker at a bargain, Tyrice Knight in slot 237, plain and simple. A luxury on a unit that was already in good shape.
