Draft Grade — Raiders
Overall

Mendoza is the plan now, and the Raiders grade out a B. The one hole that towered over the rest is filled. The Raiders spent their marquee pick on Fernando Mendoza, and for the first time in a while there is a real answer at quarterback.
Reaching for Harris left real value on the table behind him. Leaving wide receiver unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. Golday falling to them is the kind of break a good board is built to catch.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but wide receiver.
Pick Analysis
Pick1
Rnd1
Fernando Mendoza
In the 1st overall pick they get the arm they will build around. A real need, handled.
Pick47
Rnd2
D'Angelo Ponds
By-the-book stuff, D'Angelo Ponds at pick No. 47 squarely in line with his ranking. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick67
Rnd3
Jake Golday
They let Jake Golday come to them and pounced at pick 67. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick102
Rnd4
Treydan Stukes
A quiet steal in Round 4, Pick 2: Treydan Stukes for less than the market said. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick120
Rnd4
Jalon Kilgore
Fair-plus on Jalon Kilgore, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick134
Rnd4
Bud Clark
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Bud Clark at No. 134 is the proof. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Pick154
Rnd5
Jalen Farmer
No edge and no loss on Jalen Farmer in the 154th pick; it is a wash and a sensible one. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick174
Rnd5
Lander Barton
A reach on Lander Barton in the Round 5 slot; the board had better options right there. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Pick180
Rnd6
Taylen Green
They took Taylen Green at par in the 180th pick, which is nothing to complain about. The roster fit checks out.
Pick183
Rnd6
VJ Payne
They liked VJ Payne enough to skip the value, taking him in No. 183. They doubled down on a strength rather than a need.
Pick199
Rnd6
Zxavian Harris
A wild overpay on Zxavian Harris in pick 199, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick219
Rnd7
Aiden Fisher
A reach for Aiden Fisher in pick No. 219; a little patience would have been rewarded. It is more luxury than necessity; they were already set here.
Pick254
Rnd7
Riley Nowakowski
Riley Nowakowski at the Round 7 slot is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
