Draft Grade — Raiders
Overall B-
ValueC+ NeedB TradesC+ FutureB-
A franchise passer in Mendoza headlines a B- weekend for the Raiders.

The Raiders looked at the value chart, folded it up, and took Roman Hemby at Round 7, Pick 3 regardless, 135 picks early. Good, not great, and the B- says as much.

The whole projection now runs through Fernando Mendoza; hit there and everything else looks smarter. Landing Golday that late papers over a lot of smaller sins.

In sum, a sensible class that nudges the roster the right way.

Pick Analysis
Pick1 Rnd1 Fernando Mendoza
In pick No. 1 they get their quarterback of the future. A real need, handled.
Pick36 Rnd2 Dillon Thieneman
Dillon Thieneman at the 36th overall pick is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Pick67 Rnd3 Elijah Sarratt
A reach on Elijah Sarratt in slot 67; the board had better options right there. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick115 Rnd4 Jalon Kilgore
They paid sticker price for Jalon Kilgore in Round 4, Pick 15, and that is fine. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick117 Rnd4 Jake Golday
You do not let an edge rusher like Jake Golday reach No. 117 and blink. They did not. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick134 Rnd4 Chris McClellan
Chris McClellan at pick 134 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. It fills a real need, too.
Pick175 Rnd5 Taylen Green
They jumped the gun on Taylen Green, taking him earlier than his grade liked. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick182 Rnd6 VJ Payne
VJ Payne at the 182nd pick is a conviction pick that outran the value. Depth on depth, at a spot that was hardly crying out.
Pick185 Rnd6 Logan Fano
This one needs a full-page explanation: Logan Fano in the Round 6 slot, miles early. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick208 Rnd6 Riley Nowakowski
Riley Nowakowski at the 208th overall pick is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. The roster fit checks out.
Pick219 Rnd7 Roman Hemby
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Roman Hemby well ahead of where he belonged. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick253 Rnd7 Trey Zuhn III
Value with a capital V on Trey Zuhn III in pick No. 253, a genuine coup. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
