The 49ers kept it disciplined and banked a B-.

Boards are made to be trusted, and the 49ers shredded theirs for Oluwafemi Oladejo. He came off 65 spots early, and the room will hear about it. Nothing here to lose sleep over; call it a B-.

Belton at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster. Leaving quarterback unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.

Job largely done: offensive lineman settled and 6 of 8 of the wish list covered. Building through the lines is a philosophy, and they stuck to it.

Solid rather than spectacular, and there is nothing wrong with that.

Pick Analysis
Pick11 Rnd1 Mason Graham
In pick No. 11 they get a wrecking ball inside at fair value. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick43 Rnd2 Benjamin Morrison
Benjamin Morrison at Round 2, Pick 11 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Pick75 Rnd3 Oluwafemi Oladejo
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Oluwafemi Oladejo. It fills a real need, too.
Pick100 Rnd3 Savion Williams
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Savion Williams in No. 100. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick113 Rnd4 Kevin Winston Jr.
A quiet steal in the 113th overall pick: Kevin Winston Jr. for less than the market said. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Pick138 Rnd4 Anthony Belton
A top-tier offensive lineman at a bargain, Anthony Belton in the Round 4 slot, plain and simple. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick147 Rnd5 Jaydon Blue
They reached into another round for Jaydon Blue, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick160 Rnd5 Ty Robinson
A straight-up fair deal on Ty Robinson at Round 5, Pick 22, value and slot in agreement. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick227 Rnd7 Ricky White III
Ricky White III slipping to No. 227 is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick249 Rnd7 Carson Vinson
A offensive lineman of that caliber at the Round 7 slot is the definition of value, full stop. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick252 Rnd7 Thomas Fidone II
Thomas Fidone II at the 252nd pick is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the tight end. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
