Draft Grade — Bears

The Bears turned the phones into found money: B. If you want a masterclass in dealing, watch the Bears, who turned every swap into a profit this weekend.
The Travis pick is the one the value grade keeps tripping over. That interior defensive lineman hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. The Terry McLaurin deal gives the class an established piece to lean on.
Good work on the whole, with interior defensive lineman the one box left unchecked.
Pick Analysis
Pick2
Rnd1
Malik Nabers
In No. 2 they get a go-to option on the outside. A real need, handled.
Pick9
Rnd1
Rome Odunze
Rome Odunze in the 9th pick is fair value, right on his grade. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick40
Rnd2
Troy Fautanu
The board had Troy Fautanu higher than Round 2, Pick 8, and the offensive lineman fell to them anyway. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick75
Rnd3
Cooper Beebe
By-the-book stuff, Cooper Beebe at the 75th overall pick squarely in line with his ranking. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick110
Rnd4
Jordan Travis
A big swing on Jordan Travis at the Round 4 slot, well ahead of any board in the building. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick127
Rnd4
Justin Eboigbe
Good price on Justin Eboigbe in pick 127, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick146
Rnd5
Edefuan Ulofoshio
A market-rate linebacker, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Edefuan Ulofoshio. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick186
Rnd6
Jared Wiley
They paid up for Jared Wiley at slot 186 when waiting would have done the job. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Pick232
Rnd7
Myles Cole
A reach on Myles Cole in Round 7, Pick 12; the board had better options right there. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
