Larceny in the 111th overall pick lands the Chargers a D-, Sanders and all. The trade table was where it all came apart. The Chargers shipped out far more than they hauled back, and no amount of spin dresses up the bill.
If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through interior defensive lineman. Landing Sanders that late papers over a lot of smaller sins. The Chargers clearly valued win-now help, adding bodies who have done it before.
It is a steep hill from here, and the grade knows it.
Pick Analysis
Pick2
Rnd1
James Pearce Jr.
In slot 2 they get a disruptor off the edge. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick15
Rnd1
Quinshon Judkins
In Round 1, Pick 15 they get a lead back with juice at fair value. A real need, handled.
Pick17
Rnd1
Harold Perkins Jr.
In pick No. 17 they get a coverage-and-run second-level piece. Need was not the driver here.
Pick111
Rnd4
Shilo Sanders
Steal is underselling it; Shilo Sanders at pick 111 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
