The Cardinals kept it disciplined and banked a B-. The war room fell hard for Quinn Ewers, and it showed at slot 47: 45 picks ahead of a board that had other ideas. It nets out to a B-, which feels about right.
Simon at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped offensive lineman, which is a strange place to end up.
Quarterback is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but offensive lineman.
Pick Analysis
Pick16
Rnd1
Matthew Golden
In slot 16 they get a No. 1 receiver at fair value. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick47
Rnd2
Quinn Ewers
A real head-scratcher, Quinn Ewers in pick No. 47 is miles ahead of his ranking. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick78
Rnd3
Maxwell Hairston
A tidy little value on Maxwell Hairston in Round 3, Pick 14, a step better than break-even. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Pick115
Rnd4
Savion Williams
Savion Williams at the 115th overall pick is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick152
Rnd5
Cody Simon
They barely believed it either: Cody Simon still on the board at pick 152. The roster fit checks out.
