The Saints lost the trade table, and the D- tells the story. The move everyone will second-guess came early. The Saints reached some 113 spots for Gentry Williams, and value like that does not grow back. The process wobbled, and the D- is where it lands.
That is a running back worth more than the slot they spent on him, plainly. Overpaying at the table undid a lot of the good work elsewhere.
Spending an early pick on safety with quarterback open is the decision the grade keeps circling back to. The quarterback spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at.
A rough weekend that leaves the roster with more questions than answers.
