A sensible, unshowy class lands the Cardinals a B. There is a lot to like until you notice quarterback is still a hole. The Cardinals never got to the one that mattered most. Call it a sensible B, earned the boring way.
Verse at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster. The roster is better shaped than it was, with wide receiver chief among the fixes.
They came away with juice, if not much beef up front. Their trades came out a wash either way.
Not a headline-grabber, but a perfectly good weekend's work.
Pick Analysis
Pick4
Rnd1
Marvin Harrison Jr.
In the Round 1 slot they get a matchup problem out wide at fair value. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick21
Rnd1
Jared Verse
In the 21st pick they get a disruptor off the edge at a price that makes it sweeter. Exactly the need they had to hit.
