The steal of the weekend belongs to the Giants and Taaffe: A-.

Give the war room a raise for the dealing alone. The Giants came out ahead on every exchange that mattered, and it was not close. Just about everything broke right, and the A- follows.

With edge rusher and tight end unsolved, spending premium capital on linebacker is the choice that costs them. The Taaffe steal is the beam this whole class leans on.

That edge rusher hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. The Tyler Guyton deal gives the class an established piece to lean on.

In the end it comes back to Caleb Downs, and a haul good enough to build on right away.
