Draft Grade — Giants
Overall D-
ValueB- NeedB TradesF FutureC+
The Giants answered their biggest question with Sanders. Grade: D-.

Some picks age like wine; Benjamin Morrison at the 134th overall pick will need to, sitting 65 spots clear of his grade. The board pushed back all weekend, and the D- is the result.

Landing Monangai that late papers over a lot of smaller sins. Overpaying at the table undid a lot of the good work elsewhere.

Whatever Shedeur Sanders becomes, the front office has tied its fortunes to the answer. The safety hole is the one line item this class does not answer.

Add it up and it is a weekend the front office will hope everyone forgets, safety very much included.

Pick Analysis
Pick2 Rnd1 Shedeur Sanders
In No. 2 they get a long-term answer under center. A real need, handled.
Pick14 Rnd1 Will Johnson
In the 14th overall pick they get a lockdown presence outside, though they paid up to get him. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick49 Rnd2 Isaiah Bond
A slide stopped in Round 2, Pick 17, with Isaiah Bond worth more than the price. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick102 Rnd4 Smael Mondon Jr.
A top-tier linebacker at a bargain, Smael Mondon Jr. in slot 102, plain and simple. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Pick134 Rnd4 Benjamin Morrison
Benjamin Morrison at pick No. 134 is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick155 Rnd5 Bear Alexander
A market-rate interior defensive lineman, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Bear Alexander. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick217 Rnd7 Tristan Leigh
Value said wait; Tristan Leigh in the 217th overall pick says they were not listening. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick245 Rnd7 Kyle Monangai
Kyle Monangai in No. 245 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
