Draft Grade — Raiders
Overall B-
ValueB NeedB TradesB- FutureB-
Ward is the plan now, and the Raiders grade out a B-.

The Sai'vion Jones selection is the head-turner. The Raiders reached 122 spots for him, and it will define how this weekend is remembered. It does the job without flash, and the B- reflects it.

They banked enough surplus on Skattebo to cover a lot of smaller sins. Everything downstream of Cam Ward depends on Cam Ward, and the building knows it. If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through cornerback.

Edge rusher is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but cornerback.

Pick Analysis
Pick6 Rnd1 Cam Ward
In the 6th overall pick they get the face of the franchise. A real need, handled.
Pick37 Rnd2 Nick Emmanwori
Taking Nick Emmanwori in pick 37 is close to grand larceny; a safety that good had no business lasting this long. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Pick68 Rnd3 Kaleb Johnson
Kaleb Johnson at No. 68 is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick73 Rnd3 Jihaad Campbell
Somehow Jihaad Campbell was still sitting there in the 73rd pick, and they pounced on premier linebacker value. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick106 Rnd4 Sai'vion Jones
Sai'vion Jones in Round 4, Pick 5 is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick142 Rnd5 Jake Majors
They barely believed it either: Jake Majors still on the board at the Round 5 slot. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick178 Rnd6 Jeffrey Bassa
They will replay Jeffrey Bassa at pick No. 178 for years; that is how good the value is. A luxury on a unit that was already in good shape.
Pick212 Rnd6 Cam Skattebo
You do not let a running back like Cam Skattebo reach slot 212 and blink. They did not. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick216 Rnd6 Shilo Sanders
A real head-scratcher, Shilo Sanders in pick 216 is miles ahead of his ranking. Nice player, but the depth chart did not need him here.
Pick222 Rnd7 Terrance Ferguson
Terrance Ferguson at No. 222 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. It fills a real need, too.
