Draft Grade — Texans
Overall F
ValueB NeedA- TradesF FutureF
Grand theft in the 247th overall pick: the Texans steal Chambers and grade out a F.

Somebody took the Texans to the cleaners. The deals they made bled real value, and the whole class wears it.

They punted on running back, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest. The Jones reach is the anchor dragging on the value grade. If one pick saves this weekend, it is Chambers.

Spend now, pay later; the math only works if this class delivers.

The verdict is harsh because the weekend was, and there is little to argue.

Pick Analysis
Pick1 Rnd1 Marvin Harrison Jr.
In pick 1 they get a No. 1 receiver. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick123 Rnd4 Isaiah Adams
Isaiah Adams in No. 123 is fair value, right on his grade. The roster fit checks out.
Pick126 Rnd4 Sataoa Laumea
Sataoa Laumea at pick No. 126 is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick163 Rnd5 Christian Jones
They reached a country mile for Christian Jones at Round 5, Pick 27, and the board is aghast. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick239 Rnd7 Evan Williams
Evan Williams at slot 239 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Pick247 Rnd7 Steele Chambers
A top-tier linebacker at a bargain, Steele Chambers in the 247th pick, plain and simple. A need, and now a little less of one.
