Draft Grade — Bears
Overall B+
ValueB NeedB TradesA+ FutureC+
Quarterback settled, Williams in the fold, and a B+ for the Bears.

After circling the position for what felt like forever, the Bears committed. Caleb Williams is the quarterback now, and the roster gets built to his timeline.

Johnson has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced. The trade ledger is the best part of the whole weekend.

On value alone, Bullard makes the weekend a net positive. The running back spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at.

Good work on the whole, with running back the one box left unchecked.

Pick Analysis
Pick1 Rnd1 Caleb Williams
In No. 1 they get their quarterback of the future. A real need, handled.
Pick13 Rnd1 Malik Nabers
In the 13th overall pick they get a matchup problem out wide, and a steal at that. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick28 Rnd1 Laiatu Latu
In the Round 1 slot they get a problem off the edge, outstanding value to boot. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick68 Rnd3 Javon Bullard
You do not let a safety like Javon Bullard reach the 68th pick and blink. They did not. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick85 Rnd3 Michael Hall Jr.
Nothing to complain about; Michael Hall Jr. went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick118 Rnd4 Matt Goncalves
A tidy little value on Matt Goncalves in Round 4, Pick 18, a step better than break-even. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick122 Rnd4 Elijah Jones
Elijah Jones at pick 122 is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick156 Rnd5 Cornelius Johnson
They reached a country mile for Cornelius Johnson at slot 156, and the board is aghast. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
