Draft Grade — Colts
Overall
B-
ValueB
NeedB
TradesB-
FutureB-
Quarterback settled, Klubnik in the fold, and a B- for the Colts. There was a run on nobody at that position, and the Colts started one anyway for Keaten Wade, 70 picks ahead of schedule. Good, not great, and the B- says as much.
Cade Klubnik gives the offense a face and a plan, and the grade leans heavily on whether he hits. Leigh falling to them is the kind of break a good board is built to catch. If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through wide receiver.
Nothing here to lose sleep over, and plenty to feel decent about.
Pick Analysis
Pick8
Rnd1
Cade Klubnik
In the 8th pick they get a franchise quarterback. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick40
Rnd2
Dillon Thieneman
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Dillon Thieneman at pick No. 40 is the proof. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Pick72
Rnd3
Jalon Kilgore
No edge and no loss on Jalon Kilgore in Round 3, Pick 8; it is a wash and a sensible one. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Pick108
Rnd4
Chase Bisontis
Chase Bisontis in slot 108 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick147
Rnd5
Samuel Omosigho
Samuel Omosigho in the 147th overall pick is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick186
Rnd6
Jaishawn Barham
By-the-book stuff, Jaishawn Barham at pick 186 squarely in line with his ranking. The roster fit checks out.
Pick221
Rnd7
Tristan Leigh
Steal is underselling it; Tristan Leigh at pick No. 221 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick247
Rnd7
Korey Foreman
They talked themselves into Korey Foreman at the 247th pick, and the board did not agree. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick249
Rnd7
Keaten Wade
Keaten Wade in pick 249 is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
