Draft Grade — Titans
Overall

FutureB-
The Titans left with their quarterback, and a B- to match. Somewhere a general manager is explaining how Smael Mondon Jr. got past him. The Titans do not have to explain a thing at Round 7, Pick 24.
So much rides on Cam Ward that the rest of the class almost grades on a curve behind him. The edge rusher hole is the one line item this class does not answer. The roster is better shaped than it was, with offensive lineman chief among the fixes.
In short, they left a little better than they arrived, which is the whole idea.
Pick Analysis
Pick1
Rnd1
Cam Ward
In the 1st pick they get a passer to set the clock by. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick35
Rnd2
Luther Burden III
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Luther Burden III at slot 35. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick102
Rnd4
Andrew Mukuba
Andrew Mukuba at Round 4, Pick 1 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Pick131
Rnd4
Tai Felton
A top-tier wide receiver at a bargain, Tai Felton in the 131st overall pick, plain and simple. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick140
Rnd5
Jake Majors
They barely believed it either: Jake Majors still on the board at pick No. 140. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick166
Rnd5
Kevin Winston Jr.
They will replay Kevin Winston Jr. at slot 166 for years; that is how good the value is. Stacking talent where they were already deep.
Pick177
Rnd6
Mason Taylor
Taking Mason Taylor in pick 177 is close to grand larceny; a tight end that good had no business lasting this long. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick240
Rnd7
Smael Mondon Jr.
Circle this one: Smael Mondon Jr. at No. 240 is a fall that decides a draft. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
