Draft Grade — Ravens
Overall B-

More right than wrong for the Ravens, and a B- to prove it.

The Ravens put a flag in the ground for Keaten Wade, 66 picks before anyone else would have, and the value took the hit. A sturdy weekend that grades out a B-.

They will regret leaving quarterback for another day if the season turns on it. Carter at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster. Cornerback is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.

Nearly every premium pick went to that side of the ball.

Solid rather than spectacular, and there is nothing wrong with that.

Pick Analysis
Pick31 Rnd1 A.J. Harris
In the Round 1 slot they get a sticky cover corner. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick63 Rnd2 Tim Keenan III
By-the-book stuff, Tim Keenan III at slot 63 squarely in line with his ranking. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick95 Rnd3 Evan Stewart
Evan Stewart in pick 95 is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick131 Rnd4 Xavier Nwankpa
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Xavier Nwankpa. A minor itch, scratched.
Pick143 Rnd5 Terrance Carter
Terrance Carter slid further than he should have, and the 143rd pick is lovely value for the tight end. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick170 Rnd5 Tristan Leigh
Tristan Leigh at the 170th overall pick is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick172 Rnd5 Jaishawn Barham
They talked themselves into Jaishawn Barham at No. 172, and the board did not agree. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Pick175 Rnd5 Xavier Scott
They did well to land Xavier Scott in Round 5, Pick 37, just ahead of his grade. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick244 Rnd7 Dylan Edwards
This one needs a full-page explanation: Dylan Edwards in slot 244, miles early. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick246 Rnd7 Keaten Wade
Keaten Wade at pick 246 is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. It fills a real need, too.
