RF4916 DRAFTING FOR THERavens
Draft Selections
Draft Grade — Ravens
Overall
B-
ValueC-
NeedA-
TradesB-
FutureB-
More right than wrong for the Ravens, and a B- to prove it. Call it belief, call it a gut call, but Raylen Wilson at the Round 5 slot is 31 spots clear of consensus, and that is the headline.
They will regret leaving running back for another day if the season turns on it. Job largely done: cornerback settled and 6 of 8 of the wish list covered.
The back end got a real overhaul.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the running back spot they never got to.
Pick Analysis
Pick14
Rnd1
Ellis Robinson IV
In No. 14 they get a potential shutdown corner, though the board says they badly overpaid. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick45
Rnd2
Trevor Goosby
A real head-scratcher, Trevor Goosby in the 45th overall pick is miles ahead of his ranking. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick80
Rnd3
A'Mauri Washington
By-the-book stuff, A'Mauri Washington at slot 80 squarely in line with his ranking. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick115
Rnd4
Kenyatta Jackson Jr.
Kenyatta Jackson Jr. at the 115th pick is a conviction pick that outran the value. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick152
Rnd5
Raylen Wilson
They talked themselves into Raylen Wilson at Round 5, Pick 14, and the board did not agree. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick160
Rnd5
Jaden Greathouse
A straight-up fair deal on Jaden Greathouse at pick No. 160, value and slot in agreement. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick172
Rnd5
Jermaine Mathews Jr.
No edge and no loss on Jermaine Mathews Jr. in No. 172; it is a wash and a sensible one. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick173
Rnd5
Landen Hatchett
They paid a round early for Landen Hatchett in slot 173, more than the board wanted. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick249
Rnd7
Derek Williams Jr.
A market-rate safety, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Derek Williams Jr.. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Pick252
Rnd7
Jelani Thurman
Jelani Thurman at pick 252 is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
