Draft Grade — Dolphins
Overall
B+
ValueB-
NeedA
TradesA+
FutureB-
The Dolphins found their guy under center in Simpson: B+. The one hole that towered over the rest is filled. The Dolphins spent their marquee pick on Ty Simpson, and for the first time in a while there is a real answer at quarterback.
The dealing alone would carry a lesser class. They punted on wide receiver, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest. The Dolphins paired the rookies with proven help, David Njoku leading the way.
A workmanlike haul that should hold up just fine.
Pick Analysis
Pick11
Rnd1
Ty Simpson
In No. 11 they get a long-term answer under center. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick39
Rnd2
Christen Miller
By-the-book stuff, Christen Miller at pick No. 39 squarely in line with his ranking. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
