FutureB-
Maye is the Patriots' new face under center. Grade: B+. After circling the position for what felt like forever, the Patriots committed. Drake Maye is the quarterback now, and the roster gets built to his timeline. A sturdy weekend that grades out a B+.
The dealing alone would carry a lesser class. That interior defensive lineman hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall.
Bottom line, more hits than misses and a roster nudged the right way.
Pick Analysis
Pick3
Rnd1
Drake Maye
In the 3rd overall pick they get a franchise quarterback. A real need, handled.
Pick25
Rnd1
Chop Robinson
In pick No. 25 they get juice off the edge at fair value. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick125
Rnd4
Cedric Gray
A straight-up fair deal on Cedric Gray at the Round 4 slot, value and slot in agreement. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Pick136
Rnd4
Johnny Wilson
A tidy bit of business in Round 4, Pick 36, where Johnny Wilson graded well above the range. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
