The Commanders let Coleman fall into their laps, and walked away with a B-.

The best pick of the weekend was also the simplest. The Commanders watched Keon Coleman slide 33 picks past his grade and did not hesitate. Good, not great, and the B- says as much.

The trade table is where this weekend went wrong. They will regret leaving running back for another day if the season turns on it. Wide receiver was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.

Darius Robinson at No. 37 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. The roster fit checks out.
Pick67 Rnd3 Jeremiah Trotter Jr.
Jeremiah Trotter Jr. is a better player than the 67th pick suggests; smart patience, rewarded. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Pick69 Rnd3 Keon Coleman
Keon Coleman at the Round 3 slot is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.

Caelen Carson slid further than he should have, and slot 101 is lovely value for the cornerback. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.

They paid sticker price for Jaden Crumedy in the Round 6 slot, and that is fine. The roster reasoning here is anyone's guess.
