There is conviction, and then there is this. The Bears took Brandon Coleman a full 53 picks ahead of where the board had him, an overdraft steep enough that it colors the whole weekend. Hard to defend, and the D reflects that.

They lost the exchange badly enough to drag the whole class down. They have staked the next five years on Drake Maye, which is the only story that really matters here. If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through interior defensive lineman.

In short, the board sent warnings, and they will be hoping it was wrong.
