Nothing loud, just a tidy B- for the Rams.

The curious call sets the tone. With running back, tight end and other spots still glaring, the Rams used slot 100 on Javon Solomon, an OLB-EDGE they were not exactly short of.

They covered a lot of ground and still skipped running back, which is a strange place to end up. McCarthy at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster.

Reaching for Smith left real value on the table behind him. The roster is better shaped than it was, with wide receiver chief among the fixes.

In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the running back spot they never got to.
