Thirty-one other rooms let Jordan Phillips slide, and the Broncos were the ones holding the card at pick No. 191. Highway robbery. Nothing here to lose sleep over; call it a B+.

The Merritt reach is the anchor dragging on the value grade. For all the activity, edge rusher went untouched, which is hard to explain.

The roster is better shaped than it was, with linebacker chief among the fixes.

Bottom line, more hits than misses and a roster nudged the right way.
