Pj DRAFTING FOR THEVikings
Draft Grade — Vikings
Overall
D+

FutureB-
Hard to find the plan in the Vikings' weekend. D+. Nobody had Donald Chaney this high, and it is not close. The Vikings reached 294 spots to get him at the 97th overall pick. The math is unkind, and the D+ follows.
They covered a lot of ground and still skipped quarterback, which is a strange place to end up. Cornelius at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster.
Job largely done: offensive lineman settled and 2 of 8 of the wish list covered.
In the end, a class the front office will want to grow past quickly.
Pick Analysis
Pick24
Rnd1
Denzel Burke
In the 24th overall pick they get an island corner, a steep price for the projection.
Pick97
Rnd3
Donald Chaney
They left a pile of value on the table to take Donald Chaney this early at No. 97. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick139
Rnd5
Andres Borregales
They jumped the gun on Andres Borregales, taking him earlier than his grade liked. Pure best-available; the position was not exactly begging.
Pick187
Rnd6
Ajani Cornelius
Ajani Cornelius at Round 6, Pick 11 is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
