The tape said wait; the Lions did not. Phillip Webb went at the Round 1 slot, a good 318 picks before the board was ready.

However the rest shakes out, Ersery at that price is a win they earned. That cornerback hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. On the needs board they went 4 of 9, with offensive lineman the one that mattered most.

If Phillip Webb and a couple of the gambles land, hindsight will be kinder than this grade.
